Dish Network Background and Services:
In the 1980’s, a pickup truck was travelling through Colorado carrying a gigantic TV dish antenna. A gust of wind blew it from the truck and into a ditch, destroying it upon impact. At the time, Charlie and Candy Ergen, and Jim Defranco were devastated that they just lost half of their business, formerly known as EchoStar.
Failure was not an option for these three entrepreneurs, and in 1997, Charlie Ergen founded Dish Network which is now considered a Fortune 250 company serving millions of people throughout the United States.

Dish Network on the Web:
You might want to keep up to date with Dish Network on social media. They are currently posting multiple times a day on Facebook, offering referral deals, news packs, upcoming perks and discounts, and the latest TV and Movie additions to their already massive program database.
With 4.5 million followers, you’ll get a good sense of how the community feels about the company. Their customer service is on point, so if you have a question about a particular aspect of Dish then Facebook would be the place to ask.
Their Twitter account is just as active as their Facebook page, but not as beneficial. It mostly consists of advertisements and info regarding new products that are on the horizon. If you’re looking to score some deals, we’d recommend sticking with their Facebook page.
Dish Network on Youtube:
If you’re already active on youtube then you might want to consider giving Dish Network a look. As technology advances, sometimes setting it up can be quite daunting. Luckily, Dish has provided their customers with excellent tutorials on how to set up their devices. Say goodbye to frustrating manuals and hello to easy-to-follow step by step directions performed in HD streaming video.
Here…watch this quick demonstration about how to easily connect your HopperGO.
DISH Anywhere allows you to stream over 20,000 movies and television shows from your favourite channels on demand, program your DVR at home, and watch anything live or recorded on your DVR at home from anywhere you have an internet connection. This service is included at no extra charge for all DISH customers, but you must have a Hopper with Sling or the Sling adapter at home to use the service. Why do they call their satellite box the Hopper? Because it comes with the AutoHop function, that allows you to ‘hop’ over all the commercial breaks in your recordings without having to manually fast-forward! The DVR at your home will also need to have an internet connection for you to be able to stream your recordings from a different location.
This service is optimized to work on a laptop or desktop computer, if you would like to watch it on a phone, tablet, or other mobile device then you will need to download the free DISH anywhere app from your app store first, and then log in to your account through that. On a computer you will also need to have Windows 7 or higher, or OS X 10.9 or higher as well as an up to date version of your internet browser.
Hopper 3 DVR
The Hopper DVR is consistently rated as one of the top in the business by groups like Engadget and the Consumer Technology Association. It has a button on the DVR itself that will help you locate the remote by activating a flashing light and beeping noise on the remote when it is pressed, a really handy feature for people who are perpetually looking for their remote. It also has voice commands for hands-free use. Simply tell the DVR the name of a program, movie, or genre of TV that you would like to watch and the Hopper will search for what is available for you. It will check the channel guide, your recordings, Netflix, and on-demand programming with one simple search. As mentioned above, the reason the system is named the Hopper is because of how you can ‘hop’ or skip all the commercials automatically in select programming with their Autohop feature.
One of the best features of the Hopper 3 is the sheer volume of recordings it can handle, up to 16 simultaneously. By comparison, the next nearest competitor can do only half of that. DISH listened to the complaints about previous boxes and built the Hopper 3 to address them so you don’t have to worry about recording conflicts or missing any of your favourite shows or teams again! Have you had trouble with your DVR always filling up with recordings before? The Hopper 3 can store up to 2,000 hours of recordings.
You also have the multi-view option that will allow you to watch up to 4 channels concurrently on your TV screen. Two big games on at the same time? No problem you can watch both of them at the same time. If you happen to have a 4K television then you can also watch all of them in high definition. The Hopper also comes with several built-in apps like Netflix, Pandora, and Youtube so that you can stream any movies or shows from the Netflix library, music, or digital content through your television. Charges for these services may still apply.
