How to Use the Coupon Codes
Some online shops make it difficult to find where to enter coupon codes, luckily the HBO store keeps things pretty straight-forward and simple. Here is a guide to help you through the process.
Select the items that you would like to purchase and add them to your cart. Please read the description for your coupon carefully to make sure that what you would like to purchase qualifies for the discount. Navigate to the item you would like and then click on the yellow ‘Add to Cart’ button. Continue this process until you have all the items you would like to purchase.
Once you add something to the cart it will automatically take you to your cart page, if you are just getting the one item you can enter the promo code now. If you have navigated away from the cart page but are ready to check out, you can get back to it anytime by clicking on the shopping cart icon on the top right-hand side of the screen. The promo code box is just under the list of items that you are purchasing. Enter the code and hit ‘Apply’. Make sure that you actually click on the button, typing or copying in the promo code and then hitting ‘Enter’ on the keyboard does not work.
Once you hit ‘Apply’ the shopping cart page will update and there will be a message letting you know if the coupon was successfully applied, or if it was not. From there you can hit the yellow ‘Checkout’ button at the bottom of the shopping cart area and go on to entering your shipping and payment details. That’s it!

There is a physical store location in New York City located at 42nd and 6th Ave. It’s a unique retail experience, with flat panel televisions running clips from HBO’s hit shows and the stores lighting and ambience changing to match each show. A sleek and modern shopping experience in New York City’s famous Times Square.
HBO has been in operation continuously since 1972, making it the longest running pay television service in the US. Providing service to over 32 million subscribers, they are the second largest premium channel in the United States. HBO stands for “Home Box Office”, which was originally to just be a working title while management came up with a different name. The first program and film ever broadcast on the channel was the 1971 film ‘Sometimes a Great Notion’ with Paul Newman and Henry Fonda. The first sports event they ever broadcasted followed immediately after the film, an NHL hockey game between the Vancouver Canucks and the New York Rangers. HBO’s subscriber base was initially quite small, only 8,000 subscribers, until they started broadcasting via sattelite in 1974. By April of 1975 the subscriber base had increased to approximately 100,000 and continued to grow from there.
Around the Web
The HBO Shop Blog – The HBO Shop blog features the latest merchandise they’ve brought into the store, gift guides for holidays and other occasions, as well as announcements of new sales and promotions. Worth a look if you are stuck on what to get somebody for Christmas or a birthday!
– HBO Shop on Facebook – this page doesn’t appear to have been updated since 2012 and appears to mostly be for the brick and mortar location located in Times Square in New York City. However if you’re ever in New York and have time to stop by the store the customer reviews are very positive and people seem to like their visit!
HBO on Twitter – There doesn’t seem to be an official Twitter page for just the HBO store, but you can catch all the latest HBO news, announcements, and plenty of gifs from your favourite shows on the main HBO Twitter account.
HBO on Youtube
HBO has clips from their many shows available to watch on their Youtube channel, here is a scene from the opening of Season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm where Larry has trouble getting into a bottle of soap:
So you’ve purchased something from the store and you need to return it for any reason (doesn’t fit correctly, was different than you thought it was, changed your mind, etc), what do you do? Well if you purchased it online you must return it online, and vice versa. You can not return online purchases to a physical store location, and anything that you bought in a store can not be returned online. There is a time limit on when you can return items as well. You have 30 days to return items that are shipped to inside of the United States, and 45 days to return items that have been shipped internationally. Of course, any wearable merchandise that you wish to return must be unwashed and unworn.
There are certain items that you may not return, which include food or other perishable items, undergarments, CDs, DVDs, and other media items that have already been opened, as well as any digital downloads.
You can return items that were purchased as gifts, however since the refund would be applied to the original form of payment (ie. belonging to the person who purchased the gift for you) the refund will be issued as a gift certificate instead so that you may purchase something that is more to your liking or that fits better.
Unless the item you are returning is damaged or defective, you will need to pay the cost of shipping it back to HBO. If you are returning more than $100 worth of merchandise then you are also required to ship via a traceable and insurable method. If you like you can call their customer service line and be provided with a call tag for UPS, and they will deduct the cost of that from your refund amount. For returns of merchandise valued at under $100 it is up to your discretion on how you want to send it. If you are completing an exchange, you are only responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to HBO, they will cover the cost of sending you the new item.
So how long will your order take to get to you? Well that depends on a few factors including the shipping method that you choose, and if the item is a custom order. The HBO Shop does offer 2-day and ‘Next-Day’ shipping options, however those time frames refer to how long it will take the item to reach you once the carrier has picked it up from the HBO Shop’s fulfillment center. Any orders received after 1pm Eastern Time will not be processed until the next day, and custom orders will require additional time for embroidery or other personalization. In addition, large or especially fragile items (glasses, mugs, etc) will require additional processing time to ensure that they are sufficiently packaged and will not suffer damage during shipping. If you pre-order an item, processing of the order does not begin until the item reaches the HBO Shop fulfillment center. You will receive an email with the details of your order once it has shipped, if you receive multiple emails then that means that either your order was too large to fit into just one box or it has shipped from multiple warehouses. In this case your order will most likely not arrive all at once.
